The name Paxton Brechting is widely known throughout the school, but he is more than just a shiny smile and friendly personality.

Paxton participates in an overwhelming amount of activities such as; the musical, track, cross country, Science Olympiad, Student Council, SLIC, as well as two Hudsonville school boards. Brechting’s hope for the high school community is to create an environment where everyone feels welcomed and appreciated. “ My goal going into freshman year was to try to get to know every single person,” Brechting said. Being helpful and making the people around him feel happy and accepted is something that he is extremely passionate about, and he does it wholeheartedly.

When he graduates he, in short, wants to be a teacher. He wants to make an impact on young adults the same way his teachers have made an impact on him. He wishes to help young adults as they grow, through education, to become all they can be. His teachers have had such a positive impact on him that as he gets older he chooses to be more like them in order to raise the next generations the way he has been raised.

Along with all the things he does at school Brechting also enjoys working different events with his friends in the community. Being the giving person that he is, he loves the idea of being able to have fun and still be giving back at the same time. Giving back to the community is what brings him joy, no matter how big or small the impact is.

Brechting has had such an impact on the high school community achieving his goal of making our school community better as a whole, and he might not know every single person in the school but he knows a lot. Even if he doesn’t know everyone more people know him because of all he has done for this school. Brechting is kind, giving, and supportive, the school is lucky to have such a committed student.
