This year’s prom had very mixed reviews from students and staff. It was held at GLC Live at 20 Monroe, a popular downtown venue known for concerts and events. The space had a modern, open feel with plenty of room for students to walk around, dance, take photos, and enjoy the night. Decorations matched the theme, and many students took advantage of the setting to snap pictures with friends and dates before the dancing really got going.
Prom offered more than just a dance floor. Several fun activities were set up around the venue, including henna and airbrush tattoos. These stations were busy all night, with students waiting in line to get custom designs. Whether someone wanted a small, simple symbol or something more detailed, the artists had lots of options to choose from. It was something different from past years, and many students seemed to enjoy the chance to do something creative.
The food was also a strong part of the night. There was a decent selection, with both snack items and more filling choices. Students who took time to eat during the event mostly said they were satisfied. Having food available throughout the evening gave everyone a chance to take a break and refuel between songs or activities.
One part of the night that got mixed reviews was the DJ. While some students were happy with the music and liked how she kept the energy up, others were disappointed with her song choices and transitions. A number of students shared that the music didn’t always match the vibe or wasn’t what they expected. Still, the dance floor stayed active, and many students kept dancing until the end of the night.
Prom gave students a shared space to celebrate the end of the school year. Like most big events, it had its ups and downs. Some students had a great time, while others had more mixed feelings depending on their expectations and experiences. Whether it was the music, the food, or the unique activities like henna and tattoos, prom gave the senior class one last chance to come together and make memories before graduation.
