For senior Logan Leddy, music has always been a central part of his life. From a young age, he was immersed in a home filled with music. His grandmother hosted folk concerts for him and his siblings, and his father would play records, sparking breakdancing sessions throughout the house. “Ever since I was born, I have been surrounded by music,” said Leddy. This environment shaped his childhood, with music becoming his way of expressing himself. “As a kid, I viewed life as an adventure. My favorite thing to do was go on long walks and come up with songs. Honestly looking back, I haven’t changed a bit,” said Leddy.

Leddy’s connection to music goes beyond a simple hobby. It is an essential part of who he is. “Taking in the world and being able to express it vocally and instrumentally helped me find peace within myself and the world,” said Leddy. For him, music was not just something he enjoyed but a vital part of his identity. “I was born with music, and it is what I’m meant to express,” said Leddy.

One of the most significant influences on Leddy’s musical journey has been rock icon, Freddie Mercury. His performances had a lasting impact on Leddy. “Freddie Mercury inspired me when I was younger to the point where I wanted to be him...Freddie had the crowd in the palms of his hands, and he could direct the people like they were an instrument,” said Leddy.

Leddy’s passion for music only strengthened throughout his life. He enjoys performing and writing his own music. “I could perform anywhere and be happy, there is not specific place,” said Leddy. He hopes to eventually attend college to study composing, and hopes to keep performing.
